The weather for the drive to Niceville, FL and the home of Jim and Phyllis Kaiserski could not have been better. A little breezy perhaps, but it was nice to see the sun once again. As we look back on this trip we find that the many scenic places we visited were wonderful, but the best stops were those where we were able to spend time with family and friends. Our stop at the home of Jim and Phyllis was no exception. We left the coach parked on the street in front of their home for two nights. Since theirs was the only one of the three homes on the street that did not have a motorhome in the yard we did not expect complaints from the neighbors.
Jim and Phyllis were wonderful hosts. The four of us played tourist and visited the wonderful garden grounds of Eden State Park and Topsail State Park’s snow-white beach. The panhandle of Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. Topsail has a campground that is second to none and we intend to return with the motorhome in the future. Way in the future, since it is difficult to get a reservation even eleven months in advance. We have sworn to try, though.
Saturday dawned all to soon, and we headed home on the last leg of this journey. We arrived back at the Winter Garden storage compound around seven in the evening. After grabbing a few necessaries, we unhooked the Honda and drove home as the sun set on our last day on the road. Thank you Curt for watching over things here while we were gone. We came home to a nice looking yard and no issues at the house.
Sunday was cleanup day. We gave the exterior of the coach a good scrubbing in the morning and unpacked more gear. In the evening we had Barbara’s mom over for dinner and Barbara’s iPad slide show of the trip. Ruth does not do computers, so she essentially got the contents of this blog and the photo gallery all in one sitting. She even stayed awake through all of it, which is more than I can say for myself.
We are now back in our all too familiar routine. Barbara should have the last of the pictures posted in the gallery in a day or so. This will be the last entry in the blog for a little while as we plan our next trip. There should be a few short trips before a longer summer sojourn. Thanks for reading.
