This morning George Green, the RV Tech, showed up right at
nine as planned. He had fabricated three slide locks out of his wife’s old
crutches. While not infinitely adjustable, we were able to get them to a length
that firmly holds the slide from slipping out while on the road. Looks like the
slide will be stable until we can get to a facility to have it repaired. Wish
that was it for the tech talk tonight, but when I washed the windshield this
afternoon I noticed a four inch crack working its way up from the bottom. The
windshield will need to be replaced. Hopefully we will be able to get to
Colorado Springs for that since I will be there for a good bit of time while
Barbara is back in Orlando.
Getting to Moab was through the agricultural areas of
western Colorado, and then as we turned north we entered the arid red rock
areas of Utah. Simply gorgeous. I know I have been saying that a lot, but the
American Southwest is really something.
We elected to spend a little more for this campground. We
will be here four nights, and for an additional ten bucks a night we opted for
a larger space with a concrete pad. Maybe we can get things cleaned up a bit by
staying out of the dust.
We have a tremendous view out the front of the coach.
We celebrated the first really hot day with our first Dark and
Stormy!
Tomorrow we will be off to Arches National Park or Canyon Lands
National Park. Stay tuned to see which it will be.
