Oops, this isn’t Durango!
Not our best day. We woke to gorgeous weather, but we ran
into technical difficulties that have us stuck here until Friday as a best
guess. We had trouble getting the leveling jacks up. They get very slow in cold
weather, plus all the blowing dust and sand this week did not help by leaving
a coating of dirt on the cylinders.
We moved the coach from the campsite to a holding area in
the front of the park so we could hook up the car while waiting for the jacks
to fully retract. The last thing we do before hitting the road is a walk around
the coach to make sure everything is as it should be, and perform a light check
to be sure the Honda’s lights work properly when braking and that the turn
signals work. While doing this, Barbara heard a loud pop and then the hiss of
air escaping. The brake actuator that depresses the Honda brake pedal had
failed. We need the brakes to work, so I started a search for a local dealer.
Luckily there is one just down the street. The bad news is that the actuator
has to go to Indiana to get fixed, so we are stuck here for a few days.
We got another campsite and settled back in. Just in time for DWTS as the sun set in the west..
We are not sure what we will be doing since we saw most
everything we could think of in the area while waiting out the bad weather.
Anyone out there have any ideas for the Albuquerque area?
